Creating Alignment With Your Work

My goal for Real Estate Investing for Professional Men and Women is to help professionals from all walks of life make and keep more money and grow their wealth. That’s why I bring in guests from all sorts of backgrounds who have great knowledge and incredible strategies that can help you do just that. Sometimes my guests will be real estate experts, and sometimes they will specialize in other areas of investing, finance or the business world, but they will always have some remarkable wisdom that you can implement in your own life to further your financial growth.

For this version of Real Estate Investing for Professional Men and Women, I sat down to speak with Michelle Villalobos. Michelle is a business and brand strategist, inspirational speaker, and the founder of The “Superstar” Activator. Michelle is also the host of the weekly Awaken Your Inner Superstar podcast. She is a true expert at helping leaders understand themselves and lean into their strengths to empower their businesses.

Professionals of all fields can benefit from getting a greater sense of fulfillment and satisfaction from their work, and that’s why I wanted to bring you Michelle’s wisdom. We all have different strengths that we can lean into in our professional lives, and Michelle is an expert at helping people uncover and understand those strengths. I hope her insights can help you find a higher sense of purpose and fulfillment in your own work.

The First Step is Understanding Yourself

In Michelle’s work, she helps professionals understand their identity and align it to the work they do. Through personality testing and other methods, Michelle’s clients are shown their strengths and are then able to leverage that information into greater success. Some people are exceptional support for others and make ideal business coaches. Others are great at networking and building relationships. Still others are focused on innovating and coming up with new strategies.

By understanding your strengths, you can then monetize those areas more effectively. Perhaps you’re a dentist who would do well helping other dentists manage their practices better, or you’re an engineer who excels at creating new designs. Maybe you’re a people person who would do well building professional networks or coaching others. The key to Michelle’s strategy lies in doing the things you’re passionate about and are great at.

Embracing Your Interests and Overcoming Obstacles

Michelle founded her business in 2007, right at the beginning of the recession caused by the collapse of the real estate market bubble. Where others might have balked at launching a new business venture during the difficult economic period, Michelle chose to lean into what she loves doing in spite of the risks. As a result, Michelle was able to grow her business steadily, even during the collapse that caught so many businesses and professionals off guard.

However, Michelle realized after seven years of steady success that she had painted herself into a corner. Her business was succeeding, but only because Michelle was sacrificing nearly every waking moment to it. She concluded that she needed to develop a clear, scalable, sustainable business model that would align to her strengths while still giving her the freedom to unplug from the business for needed downtime. When she implemented this new strategy, her business took off in ways it had never done before. Michelle shows us that it is vital that we align our work to our interests and strengths, and that doing so can create new opportunities for growth and success in ways we never imagined.
